Lee Sang Yoon set to romance Moon Geun Young in MBC TV ‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’

Actor Lee Sang Yoon is hotly tipped to star in upcoming MBC TV Mon-Tue drama ‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’ and romance actress Moon Geun Young.

Lee Sang Yoon will play the role of Gwanghaegun who is a wise and gentle king that has an extraordinary love towards arts and culture, and an affection for female ceramist, Jeongi.

Moon Geun Young was said to be a lock-in for the female lead role in ‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’ although it has now been reported that she is still actively considering the drama. This will mark her comeback piece after SBS TV weekend drama ‘Cheongdamdong Alice’.

Lee Sang Yoon has seen a popularity surge after his successful KBS 2TV drama ‘My Daughter Seoyoung, and has his schedules packed to the brim. After concluding his drama filming, Lee Sang Yoon returned to university and actively prepared for the final year of studies, while also finding time to begin filming for his film ‘Santa Barbara’. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that Lee Sang Yoon is currently having a good time with his career and studies.

Lee Sang Yoon’s management agency revealed, “He is now actively looking at the opportunity of appearing in ‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’. It’s a relief that he doesn’t have much lessons at university, and he just needs to attend 2 to 3 days a week. The film production has also coordinated the filming schedules with Lee Sang Yoon, so he should have no problems with the drama.”

‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’ is a story about the first female ceramist in the Joseon Dynasty, revolving around her life and love story. The drama is helmed by director Park Sung Soo, who previously did ‘Ruler of your Own World’ and ‘Delicious Proposal’, with screen writer Kwon Soon Gyu who previously wrote ‘Warrior Baek Dong Soo’ in charge of screen play.

The drama will begin filming in June, and is scheduled to make its debut in July.
