Moon Geun Young confirmed for MBC TV ‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’ drama

Actress Moon Geun Young has confirmed her participation in upcoming MBC TV Mon-Tue drama ‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’, where she will play the lead role of female ceramist, Jeongi.

Moon Geun Young previously played a talented painter, Shin Yoon Bok, in 2008 SBS TV drama ‘Painter of the Wind’, and her excellent performance enabled her to walk away with the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the 2008 SBS Drama Awards. In her upcoming drama, Moon Geun Young will play the role of Jeongi, who is the first female ceramist in the Joseon Dynasty, and the story will revolve around her life and love story.

Her management agency stated, “Moon Geun Young is preparing intently, by attending ceramic lessons weekly so that she can reprise her role as a talented ceramist perfectly.”
Actor Lee Sang Yoon had been confirmed earlier to play her love interest, Gwanghaegun, in the drama. Other cast members will be revealed at a later date once confirmed.

‘The Goddess of Fire, Jeongi’ is a story about the first female ceramist in the Joseon Dynasty, revolving around her life and love story. The drama is helmed by director Park Sung Soo, who previously did ‘Ruler of your Own World’ and ‘Delicious Proposal’, with screen writer Kwon Soon Gyu who previously wrote ‘Warrior Baek Dong Soo’ in charge of screen play.
The drama will succeed ‘Gu Family Book’ and begin filming in June, with its debut scheduled for July.
